You want rare? How about an all original, 1962 Fender Jazzmaster in Dakota Red? This specimen has had one owner before me and comes complete with photographs of the original owner with the Jazzmaster, brown tolex case, strap, tremolo arm and bridge cover! If you’re a buyer, read on!
You’re looking at a 100% original and correct Dakota Red Fender Jazzmaster from 1962.
This example has spent its entire life in the UK. It arrived with me via a dealer that purchased it from the son of the original owner. The Jazzmaster was played and gigged intensively for around a decade. After that, it has spent its entire life in its case.
When I purchased it I did nothing apart from examine it and give the electrics a good clean and that was all that was needed. This is one of the smoothest sounding Fender you will ever find! It really has it all. Pickups are strong and meaningful and the neck is perfect and full feelings. It is very difficult to put down! This is why we pay our hard earned money on these pieces of natural history/functional art!
This is an incredible Jazzmaster and if you know me, you know I love Dakota Red. It is, by a long margin, the rarest of the three shades of Fender Red. To find a custom colour Fender Jazzmaster pre 1963 being a custom colour, aside from the very common See-Thru Blond, Olympic White and Fiesta Red, I can assure you is exceptionally difficult.
