Welcome to JTKM Vintage Guitars.
We are pleased to present an early 1962 Fender Stratocaster, refinished in Fiesta Red.
This is a superb player-grade example that offers all the character and desirability of an original slab-board Stratocaster, without the prohibitive price tag associated with an original finish example. Complete with its original tremolo arm and back plate.
This March 1962 slab-board Stratocaster was refinished to Fiesta Red in 1977. The finish has been expertly executed - a thin skin over the white base coat with no clear coat applied, as per original factory practice. Dowel marks remain clearly visible through the finish.
Aside from the refinish, the only departures from originality are the tuners, which were changed to 1964 double-line Klusons in 1971, and serviced wiring to the output jack and ground. All other parts remain original.
Provenance:
Purchased new from Burden's on Yarm Road, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough by its original owner. Acquired by the current owner in 1971 and retained in his sole ownership ever since. As was often the case with UK-distributed Fender instruments of this period, it was not supplied with an original case.
